## Spanish Gambling Profits Rise in the Second Quarter – iGB
Spain’s gambling income in the second quarter hit €216 million (£184.7 million), a 3.4% jump from the same period last year.
**Casino earnings** made up the biggest chunk of the total income, with €99.9 million representing 46.3% of the overall figure. Casino earnings also climbed by 6.7% compared to the previous year and by 0.4% compared to the previous three-month period.
**Betting earnings** at €92 million made up 45.6% of the total income, up 35.0% from the previous year, while **poker earnings** at €20.3 million accounted for 9.4% of the total income.
**Total player deposits** reached €675.6 million, a 41.8% increase compared to 2020. **Player withdrawals** also saw a significant rise, climbing by 70.8% to €477.2 million.
**Marketing expenditures** totaled €128.4 million, down 13.4% from the first quarter of 2021. **Affiliate fees** amounted to €10 million, **promotional expenditures** to €49.2 million, and **advertising expenditures** to €61.6 million. An additional €7.6 million was spent on **sponsorships**.
There were an average of 991,196 **active gambling accounts** per month in the second quarter, a 54.2% increase from the previous year, with 231,167 new accounts added.
