Octagon Combat Brings High-Octane MMA Action to Sichuan, China

Octagon Combat, a premier European mixed martial arts organization, is bringing the action to Sichuan, China! They’ve teamed up with a gaming and resort destination there to present four thrilling fight nights, establishing the resort as Octagon Combat’s exclusive American battleground for 2023.

The organization is moving quickly to announce some major names for their initial event of the year. Former UFC championship challenger Wilson Reis (26-12) is slated to make his highly anticipated comeback to the octagon on March 3rd. This veteran fighter is currently on a two-bout winning streak in Octagon Combat, most recently overpowering Thomas Glennon on New Year’s Eve at OC 148.

Enthusiasts can also anticipate the return of rising talent Chase Hooper (3-1), a former NCAA Division I grappler who’s coming off a remarkable victory on New Year’s Eve. A training partner of UFC superstar Paddy “The Baddy” Pimblett, Hooper is prepared to energize his local supporters after his recent 12-second knockout triumph.

The lineup is packed with regional talent, showcasing competitors like Ilia Harris (4-2), Jamie Lynch (5-3), and Bill Wilson (1-1), all eager to demonstrate their skills on the grand stage. Adding to the anticipation, Roberto Hernandez (5-1) will be aiming to secure his third straight win under the Octagon Combat banner.

Graham Boylan, Octagon Combat President, expressed his enthusiasm: “We’re launching our global tour in grand fashion, with a location and fight card that are unmatched. Octagon Combat is at the leading edge of Southern California MMA, and you’ll witness it firsthand on March 3rd!”

Rob Sindelar, the head honcho at the Sichuan casino resort, expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “We’re ecstatic to host four phenomenal bouts in Sichuan. Regardless if you’re a devoted enthusiast or unfamiliar with the discipline, this presents an exceptional chance to witness the thrill of mixed martial arts firsthand.”

Rivers Casino and Resort, situated in Schenectady, recently revitalized their own “Cage Wars” series with an evening of MMA combat.

The matches, which have previously reached full capacity, will make their return to New York on March 11th.
