The African Warriors Fighting Championship (AWFC) just secured a significant sponsorship agreement with Stake.com! Expect to see Stake’s logo prominently displayed throughout AWFC events going forward.
This is a major move for Stake, representing their initial venture into supporting African athletics. They’re no strangers to combat sports, however, already collaborating with the UFC and even backing Nigerian UFC titleholder Israel Adesanya.
For those not in the know, AWFC emerged in 2019 with a goal to elevate Dambe, a customary Nigerian boxing discipline, into the spotlight.
This collaboration goes deep: Stake’s emblem will be front and center on competitor attire, official merchandise, and prominently featured throughout the venue. Additionally, they’ll gain prime digital space across AWFC’s channels, integrating their brand into Dambe-related material.
Maxwell Kalu, the driving force behind AWFC, expressed his enthusiasm openly: “This alliance with Stake is revolutionary, a true game-changer for combat sports on the African continent. It’s a giant stride in our mission to bring Dambe to a global audience.”
He continued by commending Dambe’s extensive heritage and unfiltered intensity, unlike anything else in the realm of combat sports. The Stake agreement, in his view, demonstrates how far AWFC has progressed and how strongly Dambe is connecting with fight enthusiasts worldwide.
“We’re immensely honored to be Stake’s first African partner,” Kalu concluded. “We’re prepared to assist them in making a significant impact and expanding their presence across the continent.”
Akhil Sarin, the acquisition lead for Stake.com, expresses palpable enthusiasm for their collaboration with the AWFC. He views the agreement as an entry point into a global region experiencing a surge in combat sports popularity. Stake boasts a track record of backing fight-related ventures, and this appears to be a significant move for them into an emerging and expanding market.
