Accel Entertainment Acquires Century Gaming in a $1.64 Billion Deal

Accel Entertainment just executed a major strategic maneuver in the American gaming sector by acquiring Century Gaming for a substantial $1.642 billion. This action is significant for Accel, which has experienced consistent success since the pandemic downturn, as demonstrated by their exceptional first-quarter financial results. This purchase is projected to significantly accelerate their expansion by incorporating Century Gaming’s impressive holdings into their assets.

Consider this: Accel now controls over 8,300 gaming machines and more than 900 premium venues throughout Montana and Nevada. We’re talking pubs, eateries, truck stops, and even convenience store franchises – effectively encompassing all key demographics!

Furthermore, this agreement extends beyond mere geographic expansion. Accel is also gaining control of Century Gaming’s design and production capabilities through Grand Vision Gaming (GVG) and their renowned i-Rewards and Gamblers Bonus initiatives.

The Century Gaming leadership team, spearheaded by CEO Steve Arntzen, CFO Heidi Schmalz, and GVG General Manager Merle Frank, will remain in place to oversee this promising new phase as members of the Accel organization.

Arntzen appears enthusiastic about the merger, stating that Accel is the ideal collaborator to help them advance and lead the gaming industry with innovative technology. He expresses pride in his team and eagerness to maintain their momentum under the Accel brand, delivering exceptional service to both operators and players.

The head of Accel, Andy Rubinstein, shared this feeling, noting, “The fusion with Century presents a remarkable chance to broaden our presence westward.”

Rubinstein added, “We hold complete faith in Century’s executive group, particularly Steve, Heidi, and Mel, to steer us as we access this hopeful sector and propel additional expansion.”
