A prominent Australian gaming and leisure conglomerate, Crown Resorts, has designated Nigel Morrison as an autonomous director to its governing body. Morrison contributes over twenty years of expertise within the gaming sector, notably in Australia, New Zealand, and the wider Asian region. He is poised to succeed John Horvath, who previously declared his plan to retire.
This selection forms part of a broader board restructuring, with Morrison providing a wealth of knowledge, particularly from his tenure as Chief Executive Officer of SkyCity Entertainment Group.
Helen Coonan, Crown’s chairperson, underscored Morrison’s profound comprehension of the casino sector in Australia and New Zealand. She emphasized his guidance at SkyCity and other leading gaming enterprises in Australia and Macau, stating that his proficiency will be indispensable as Crown maneuvers through a fluid operational landscape. The board anticipates Morrison’s input as they proceed to execute their reformation plan and pursue strategic goals.
Morrison’s distinguished career encompasses positions such as Group Chief Financial Officer of Galaxy Entertainment Group, Chief Executive Officer of the Federal Group, and Chief Operating Officer of Crown Melbourne. His inclusion on the Crown board will take immediate effect upon securing the required regulatory clearances.
Conveying his eagerness, Morrison remarked, “I am thrilled to be joining Crown, one of Australia’s genuinely symbolic publicly traded corporations.”
The company has established a strong track record of acquiring premier assets and providing an unparalleled guest journey. Their leisure destinations are genuinely exceptional.
“I am eager to collaborate with the directors and contribute to the ongoing achievements of the organization.”
