SiGMA Americas Summit Connects with Brazilian Gaming Leaders

## SiGMA Americas Conference Hosts Major Figures in Brazil’s Gaming Industry

Yesterday, Eman Pulis, the founder of SiGMA Group, connected with several important individuals in the Brazilian gaming landscape. This group included Plinio Lemos Jorge, who heads the Brazilian National Association of Gaming (ANJL), and representatives from the Brasil Union party. This included National President Antonio Eduardo Gonçalves de Rueda, Advisor Mariana Monteiro Fernandes de Carvalho, and Party Leader Manuel Arruda. Vinícius Moraes De Carvalho, an Investing Partner at Ikigai Ventures, also participated in the conversations.

“Connecting with and outlining SiGMA’s goals to some of the most impactful individuals in Brazilian gaming and oversight was a privilege,” Pulis remarked. “We set out 18 months ago to expand into the Americas with the objective of becoming the most influential event in the area – not merely by organizing a conference, but by driving the conversation and highlighting the significance of regulating online gaming.” He continued, “I foresee a very promising future – not solely for the Americas, not solely for Brazil, but particularly for São Paulo.”

In a discussion with SiGMA News, Jorge conveyed his appreciation, stating, “I want to extend my thanks, on behalf of all ANJL members, to the SiGMA Group and its president, Eman Pulis, for the warm reception during the SiGMA Americas Business & Investment Summit.”

He added, “We examined the national outlook for sports wagering and online gaming, a critical juncture as Brazil develops the regulatory structure for this sector.”

“The event’s magnitude truly astonished my companions and me. It undeniably highlights the promising nature of the Brazilian market.”

Mr. Lemos Jorge graciously accepted Mr. Caruana’s invitation to participate in upcoming SiGMA gatherings, encompassing those held globally. He views these events as a valuable platform to further exhibit Brazil’s capabilities to prominent international stakeholders. A respected legal expert and former magistrate, Mr. Jorge recently assumed the role of President of the National Association of Lottery Operators (ANJL), succeeding Wesley Cardia. He has emphasized his dedication to attentive engagement, cooperative efforts, and open communication – a clear testament to his commitment to effectively advocate for and protect the interests of ANJL constituents.

Mr. Jorge practices law as a partner at Lemos Jorge Advogados Associados. He earned a Master’s degree in Tax Law from the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo and is pursuing a PhD in Commercial Law. His prior experience includes serving as a Judge at the Tax and Fees Court of the State of São Paulo.

The Brazil Union party is a politically center-right entity in Brazil. Established in 2021 through the unification of the Democrats (DEM) and the Social Liberal Party (PSL), this consolidation resulted in the formation of Brazil’s largest political party and received formal approval from the Superior Electoral Court on February 8, 2022.
